Last Sunday, after a whole month of no movie watching – me, boyfriend and my uncle finally watched Resident Evil:Retribution. I know it’s very late but I just had to watch it. Our other choice was Taken 2 because my uncle made us watch the Taken to see what we’ll enjoy more but in the end, we still went for Resident Evil:Retribution for the fact that it might not be showing anymore soon.
As expected this movie is filled with action and zombies. Some parts would even make you think of The Walking Dead and some parts will make you feel like you’re in a game. Many characters from the earlier movie releases are also back, even the monster that once Alice brought down.
To give you an idea the scene starts from the last scene of Resident Evil:Afterlife where everyone thought it was already a happy ending – but is it?
Overall, to me, this Resident Evil movie isn’t much but action, and some more action. But I’m having this feeling that maybe it was better if we went for Taken 2 or Perks of the Wallflower. Then again, the fighting scenes are kick ass and there are some scenes you’ll be taken away and surprised. Like I said though, it’s more like being in a game and there’s not much story. I give it 5/10.
The wait is over. September 12, 2012 marks the date that Resident Evil: Retribution will be premiering in Philippine cinemas. If you’re familiar with the game series and the movie series you’ll know that it has gone a very long way.
Alice is back with more action and bloody moves. Too bad I was not able to win those Nuffnang tickets, but oh well. We’ve got Saturday which is a payday (and will let the tons of people subside).
I’m not much of a fan of the movie but rather the game actually because since I was a child my dad would play this game and I really loved Resident Evil 3. Over the years, it seemed that Resident Evil’s “spooky” pr “horror” effect has died down and turned to suspense.
Although I must say, every time, their movies are breath taking. I’m looking forward even more action and thrill in this coming movie.
