I meant to make a review for this some long time ago, unfortunately as usual I ended up not doing so. Well now, I’m grabbing that chance! I was able to re-watch it again this August with my dad and mom because it was recently aired at HBO Channel.
ParaNorman is an animated comedy horror family film produced by Laika, distributed by Focus Features and was released on August 17, 2012 (src: wikipedia)
The story is about a boy named Norman Babcock living in Blithe Hollow, Massachusetts. Norman is a very unique boy, he may not possess the awesome skills of a talented guitarist fit for mono guitar cases at m123 yet he’s that kid who can see other things that we normal people cannot. Hence, the movie title. However, this unique ability of his puts his life and the people of Blithe Hollow’s life to danger. Will he be able to do his mission or fail to do so?
This movie gets an 8/10 for me. First of all, I like how it is family oriented – it let’s the world know that we are all unique but family is family. We stick together until the end even if it’s against the world. Another that we can learn from this movie is to be not judgemental. Whatever a person looks like or can do, it does not mean it portrays what he truly is. It’s a must watch for kids, especially these Halloween season!
I’m no hipster, REALLY but it’s only this time that I’ve watched The Walking Dead season 1 despite the already out season 3 of the said series. For some reason I just didn’t like to watch it that much as others did. I guess it’s not too late?
First impressions may not last all the time. I’ve only seen the 1st episode because I had to go to sleep given that weekends are the only days with decent sleep for me. But I can say that they really weren’t lying of how good this series was done, from the effects to the stories and up to the zombies? XD I’m looking forward to be more glued and excited as I watch the next episodes. For now, I give it 9/10 🙂
